trying to hook up a 5/8 male JIC hose end to a metric DIN tube port, is this the right adapter?

On the JIC side you get a 5/8 inch male JIC with a 7/8-14 UNF thread. The other end is a male DIN 2353S metric tube connection called out as M24 x 1.5, size S16, so it bridges those two connection types in a straight steel fitting.

Got a tube line running M24 x 1.5 metric DIN and need to tie into a JIC fitting on the other end, this the right connector for that?

That's what this one's built for. One end is a 5/8" Male JIC with a 7/8-14 UNF thread, and the other is an M24 x 1.5 Male DIN tube connection. Steel construction, straight orientation, so if your layout runs in a direct line between those two connection types, this adapter bridges them without needing extra pieces in between.
