Got a line running JIC fittings on one end and metric DIN tube on the other, does this adapter go straight across without needing extra pieces in between?

That's what this fitting handles. One side is a 7/8-14 UNF male JIC at 5/8" and the other is an M20 x 1.5 male DIN 2353S connection at S12 size. Straight body, no extra unions or couplers needed. It's a single-piece steel adapter built to bridge those two thread standards in one shot.

i’ve got a hose end that’s 7/8-14 UNF JIC, does this adapter step that over to an M20 x 1.5 DIN tube fitting?

On one end you get a male JIC connection with a 7/8-14 UNF thread and a 5/8 inch size, and the other end is a male DIN tube connection with an M20 x 1.5 thread in S12. It’s a straight steel adapter meant to join those two connection styles.
