got a line running M16 x 1.5 metric DIN tube on one end and need to tie into a 7/16-20 JIC fitting on the other side, this the right part for that?

That's what this adapter is built for. One side is a 7/16-20 UNF JIC male, the other is M16 x 1.5 DIN tube male, so it bridges those two thread standards in a single straight fitting. It's a sealed connection too, so you're not relying on thread sealant tape or anything extra to keep it tight. Steel construction, 36.2mm overall length, 22mm wrench width. Solid piece for that kind of transition.
