got a hose with a 9/16-18 JIC male on it, will this union mate up on that side or am i off a size

On the JIC side, it has a 9/16-18 UNF male thread and it is called out as a 3/8 inch JIC size, so it matches a 9/16-18 JIC female connection.

Got a Komatsu port on a piece of equipment and need to tie it into a JIC line, this union do the trick for a straight connection?

That's what this fitting is built for. One end is an 18mm Komatsu male, the other is a 9/16-18 UNF JIC male, and it runs straight through with no bends or offsets.
