trying to hook a 1-1/2 JIC hose into a 42mm DIN standpipe port, is that what this fitting is for?

Built for that exact transition, it has a 1-1/2 inch male JIC end with 1-7/8-12 UN threads on one side and a 42 mm female DIN standpipe connection on the other, all in a straight steel body.
