trying to hook a 3/8 jic hose to a 10mm din standpipe port, is this the right adapter?

That's what it's made for. This adaptor has a 9/16 - 18 UNF male Jic fitting on one side (good for 3/8" connections) and a 10mm female Din Standpipe fitting on the other.
