fitting's got a 1-5/16-12 UN on one end and i need to hook into an M36 x 2.0 metric port, this the right piece for that?

That's what this fitting is built to do. One side is a male JIC at 1-5/16-12 UN and the other is a female DIN Tube metric connection at M36 x 2.0. The 90 degree elbow shape lets you make that transition while also redirecting your line, which comes in real handy when you're working in tight quarters or need to avoid a straight-run interference.
