Does this fitting come with any kind of corrosion protection, or is that something I'd need to handle on my end?

Dura-Kote plating is already applied from the factory, so corrosion resistance is built right in. That finish holds up well in environments where moisture or mild chemical exposure is a regular concern. No additional coating should be needed for standard service conditions.
