these stretch for install and then snap back to size -- how's that work in practice when you're putting 'em in a tight bore?
Question by: Lee C on Jul 8, 2025, 1:37 PM
Urethane has a natural elasticity to it, so you can stretch the ring over the component or into position without it losing its shape permanently. Once seated, it returns to its original molded dimensions pretty quickly. That recovery is what helps it seat consistently without needing special tools or a lot of fuss during installation.

So, these back up rings... they go *behind* the O-ring, right? Just wanna make sure I'm picturing it right before I order.
Question by: Merle S on Jan 8, 2026, 9:23 AM
Correct, these back-up rings are designed to provide support to O-rings, preventing them from extruding under pressure.

got a -358 o-ring groove. are these backup rings sized to match that dash size?
Question by: Glen P on Oct 27, 2025, 11:07 AM
For sizing, these rings follow standard O-ring dash sizes, so a -358 back-up ring corresponds to a -358 O-ring size.
