What's the operating temperature range on these urethane back-up rings? Just wanna make sure they can handle what I'm throwin' at 'em.
Question by: Wayne G on Dec 17, 2025, 8:11 AM
Urethane models can handle temperatures from -65°F to 220°F. Keep in mind the Teflon models offer a wider range if you need it, going from -40°F to 500°F.

i’ve got an O-ring in -252 size, are these backup rings matched to that same size or is it a different sizing deal?
Question by: Lee C on Jan 7, 2026, 8:58 AM
Sizes line up with O-ring dash sizes, so a -252 back-up ring corresponds to a -252 O-ring size.

these back-up rings stretch for install and then snap back to size, or do you have to work em into place with a tool?
Question by: Dale P on Sep 6, 2025, 6:08 AM
Molded from 90A durometer urethane, they're built to stretch during installation and then return quickly to their original shape on their own. No special tooling needed for that part of the process. The material's elasticity handles the recovery, so once you get it over the groove, it seats itself without a fight.

i got an o-ring that’s a -252 size, are these back-up rings gonna match up with that?
Question by: Troy W on Feb 17, 2026, 7:04 PM
Sizes on these back-up rings correspond to O-ring sizes, so a -252 back-up ring is meant to pair with a -252 O-ring size.
