these stretch for install right? trying to figure out if i need any special tools or if i can just work em on by hand
Question by: Hank H on Jul 9, 2025, 9:00 AM
Urethane back-up rings like these are molded to stretch during installation and snap back to their original size once seated. No special tooling required in most cases. The 90A durometer material is firm enough to resist extrusion but still has enough flex to go on by hand without much fight.

So these back up rings, they go *behind* the o-ring, right? Just wanna make sure I'm picturing it right before I order.
Question by: Keith F on Jan 24, 2026, 7:14 AM
That's the idea. These backup rings are meant to support the o-ring and prevent it from squeezing out, especially when you've got higher pressures.

i got an o-ring that’s dash -212. are these backup rings sized to match that, or am i missing something
Question by: Lance A on May 20, 2025, 4:15 PM
For these urethane back-up rings, the sizes correspond to O-ring sizes, so a dash -212 back-up ring is meant to go with a dash -212 O-ring.

Just want to make sure, this pack comes with nine of the back-up rings, right? Price seems low if it's just for one.
Question by: Donna H on Mar 25, 2025, 8:13 PM
That's correct. Each pack contains nine individual back-up rings. The price listed is for the entire pack.

got an o-ring groove that takes a -212, are these backup rings matched to that same dash size?
Question by: Dale M on Oct 7, 2025, 9:16 AM
Sizes correspond to O-ring sizes, so a -212 back-up ring is intended to pair with a -212 O-ring size.

these back-up rings stretch for install and then snap back to size? just want to make sure i ain't gonna have to fight 'em getting in there
Question by: Cindy M on May 12, 2025, 9:20 AM
That's how they work. The urethane material lets you stretch them over whatever you're seating them against, and they recover back to their original shape pretty quick once in place. Makes installation a lot less of a hassle compared to rigid back-up options.
