got a hydraulic line running M42 x 2.0 metric on one end and need to tie into a 1-1/4" JIC fitting at a 90 degree angle, this the right piece for that?

That's what this fitting handles. One side is a male JIC with a 1-5/8-12 UN thread, which corresponds to a 1-1/4" JIC size, and the other side is a male M42 x 2.0 metric thread. The 90 degree elbow lets you make that turn without needing a separate adapter in the line. Both sides are male, so make sure your mating ports are female on each end before ordering.
