Got a machine running metric fittings on one end and JIC on the other, does this elbow actually bridge both without needing some kind of adapter stack?

Yeah, that's exactly what it's built for. One end is a 3/4-16 UNF JIC male connection and the other is an M22 x 1.5 metric male, so it handles that crossover in a single fitting. On the JIC end, it has a 3/4 - 16 UNF JIC male connection (listed as 1/2 inch size). The other end is a male metric M22 x 1.5.
