Got a hydraulic line coming off a British-made pump with a 1/4 BSPT male port, and I need to tie into a 3/8 JIC male fitting on the other end. This elbow gonna work for that, or am I barkin up the wrong tree?

That setup matches exactly what this elbow handles. One end is a 3/8" Male JIC with a 9/16-18 UNF thread, and the other is a 1/4" Male BSPT with an R 1/4-19 thread. Both sides are male, so you'd need female counterparts on each end of your line. If your pump port and hose fitting are female on both sides, this elbow drops right in between them.

This 90-degree elbow is designed to adapt a 3/8" Male JIC (MJIC) to a 1/4" Male BSPT (MBSPT) connection.

You’ve got the right style if you need a steel 90 degree elbow with a male 3/8 inch JIC on side 1 (9/16-18 UNF) and a male 1/4 inch BSPT on side 2 (R 1/4-19).
