Got a hydraulic line coming off a British-made power unit with a BSPP port and I need to tie into a JIC system on the other end, this elbow gonna work for that?

That's the situation this fitting handles. One end is a 1-inch Male JIC with a 1-5/16–12 UN thread, and the other is a 1-inch Male BSPP running a G 1–11 thread. The 45-degree angle helps when you're working in a tight spot and can't run a straight adapter. Being adjustable, you can clock the elbow to whatever position works best before you torque it down, so routing the line isn't a fight.

You'll need a 33mm wrench for the Ch1 side and a 41mm wrench for the Ch2 side.

trying to tie a 1 inch JIC hose end into a 1 inch BSPP port, is this the elbow that bridges those two

For that kind of cross-over, it matches a 1 inch Male JIC on one side with 1-5/16 - 12 UN threads, and a 1 inch Male BSPP on the other side with G 1 - 11 threads. It is built to join JIC and BSPP connections at a 45 degree angle.
