So this thing goes from a 1 inch to a half inch BSPP? Just want to make sure I'm getting the right size.

That's right, this bushing has a male G 1 - 11 (1 inch) BSPP thread on one side and a female G 1/2 - 14 (1/2 inch) BSPP thread on the other.

That's exactly what this one's built for. The male side is a G 1 - 11 thread at 1 inch, and the female end accepts a G 1/2 - 14 thread at half inch. So you'd thread the male end into your 1-inch port and run your half-inch fitting into the female side. Steel construction, straight profile, 30.7mm long. Pretty straightforward reducer for BSPP-to-BSPP applications where you're stepping down between those two sizes.

trying to step down from a 1 inch BSPP port to a 1/2 inch BSPP fitting, is that what this bushing does?

For adapting between BSPP sizes, this bushing gives you a male G 1 - 11 thread on one side and a female G 1/2 - 14 thread on the other, so it works as a straight step-down adapter from 1 inch BSPP male to 1/2 inch BSPP female.
