got a pump with 3/4-14 nptf coming off it and the valve block is g 1/2-14. is this the right adapter to tie those together?

For that mix of threads, it’s a match. One end is a 3/4 inch male NPTF (3/4-14) and the other end is a 1/2 inch fixed female BSPP (G 1/2-14), so it’s meant to connect an NPT-threaded component to a BSPP-ported piece of equipment.

Got a piece of European equipment with a G 1/2-14 port and all my supply lines are NPT. this adapter gonna bridge that gap?

That's what this one's built for. One end is 3/4-14 NPTF male, the other is a fixed female BSPP at G 1/2-14, so it threads right into that European port and ties your NPT line onto it clean. Pretty common situation when you're running North American hydraulic connections into imported machinery.
