got a hose end that’s 3/8 male BSPP and the port on my block is female NPT. is this the right little adapter to marry those up?

It bridges those two thread types by going from a #6 Male BSPP on one side to a #6 Female NPT on the other, and it uses an O-ring to help keep the seal tight.

This adapter is designed to connect a #6 Male BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) to a #6 Female NPT (National Pipe Thread) fitting.

The o-ring is included as part of the connection design. You won't need to source it separately or hunt down a match before installation.
