trying to hook a G 3/4-14 port to a JIC hose end, is this the right adapter?

Match the threads on both sides and it lines up. Side 1 is a female BSPP G 3/4 - 14, and side 2 is a female JIC swivel with 3/4 - 16 UNF threads.

Got a piece of equipment running BSPP on one end and JIC on the other, this the kind of adapter that bridges those two without needing extra fittings in between?

That's what this one's for. One side is Female BSPP at G 3/4 - 14 thread, and the other is a Female JIC swivel at 3/4 - 16 UNF. Both sides are female, so you're threading male fittings into each end. The straight body keeps the connection clean without adding bends or bulk, and the overall length runs 48.1mm so it won't eat up much space in a tight hydraulic connections layout.
