got a line running G 1/2 BSPP on one end and JIC 3/4-16 on the other, this the right piece to bridge those two?

That's what this adapter is built for. One side is a female BSPP at G 1/2-14 and the other is a female JIC at 3/4-16 UNF, both in the 1/2" size range. The straight steel body keeps it simple with no angled offset, so it drops right in where space isn't a concern. Overall length comes in at 47mm, which is pretty compact for a two-connection bridge like this.

trying to hook a BSPP port to a JIC line, is this the right adapter for that?

For a straight adapter that goes from female BSPP on one side to a female JIC swivel on the other, this one matches that job. Side 1 is BSPP G 1/2 - 14 female, and Side 2 is JIC 3/4 - 16 UNF female, both in a 1/2 inch size.
