got a metric port on a chinese-made hydraulic block, M16 x 1.5 threads, and need to tie into a JIC line on the other end. this the right piece for that?

That's what this adapter is built for. One end is a male JIC fitting with 9/16-18 UNF threads, which covers a 3/8 inch JIC line. The other end is a female metric flat face port at M16 x 1.5. Steel construction, straight configuration. If your block has that M16 x 1.5 female port and you're running a JIC hydraulic line, this adapter makes that connection directly.
