trying to hook a 1/4 JIC hose up to a metric DIN tube port, is this the right adapter?

For that mix of ends, it matches up as a straight steel adapter with a male JIC on Side 1 (7/16-20 UNF, 1/4 inch size) and a female DIN tube swivel on Side 2 (M12 x 1.5, L06 size).

what's the thread size on the JIC side of this fitting? need to know if it'll mate up with a 7/16 line I got on a loader attachment

The male JIC end runs a 7/16-20 UNF thread, so if your line is spec'd for that callout you're in good shape. That's a standard 1/4" JIC size, which shows up pretty commonly on smaller hydraulic lines and fittings in agricultural and loader equipment.
