i’ve got a hose end that’s 1-7/8 - 12 UN JIC, will this adapter screw right into it and still let me swivel it?

got a G 1-1/2 - 11 BSPP male port on a hydraulic block and need to tie into a JIC female line, this fitting do that?

That's what this one's built for. The male side threads in at G 1-1/2 - 11 BSPP and the female side accepts a 1-7/8 - 12 UN JIC fitting, so it bridges those two thread standards in one piece. Both port sizes are 1-1/2 inch, and the swivel on the JIC end gives you some rotational flexibility when you're routing the line, which helps a lot when the connection angle isn't ideal straight off the block.
