Got a hydraulic line coming off a British-made pump with a G 5/8-14 port, and I need to tie into a JIC fitting on the other end. This the right adapter for that?

That setup is exactly what this fitting handles. The male end threads into a G 5/8-14 BSPP port, and the female JIC swivel on the other end accepts a 1-1/16-12 UN male JIC fitting. The swivel design on the JIC side lets you position the mating line without twisting it during tightening, which makes assembly a lot cleaner in tight spaces.
