Will this fitting work to connect a 1/4" BSPP male to a 1/2" JIC hose?

This Adaptall adapter is designed to connect a G 1/4 - 19 male BSPP fitting to a 1/2 - 20 UNF female JIC swivel fitting.

got a hose end thats 1/2-20 JIC swivel, will this screw onto it and then go into a G 1/4 BSPP port?

Built for that exact thread combo, one end is a 1/2 - 20 UNF female JIC swivel and the other end is a G 1/4 - 19 male BSPP. It is a straight steel adapter meant to join those two connection types.

what's the thread size on the male end of this fitting? trying to figure out if it'll mate up with a G 1/4 port on a pump housing we got

The male end runs a G 1/4 - 19 BSPP thread, so if your pump housing has a matching G 1/4 port, you're in good shape. The female side swivels and carries a 1/2 - 20 UNF JIC connection, which is a 37-degree flare seat standard on a lot of hydraulic hose ends. The swivel feature gives you a little wiggle room during installation so you're not fighting the hose to get alignment right.
