trying to hook a G 3/8 - 19 male BSPP port to a metric tube nut, is this the right adapter?

That's correct. This straight steel adapter goes from a 3/8" BSPP G 3/8 - 19 male connection to a female M14 X 1.5 L08 DIN Tube connection.

Yeah, that's exactly what this adapter is built for. One end is a male 3/8" BSPP (G 3/8-19) and the other is a female M14 x 1.5 DIN tube swivel connection. Steel construction, straight configuration. If your port is G 3/8-19 and your tube side is L08 DIN metric, this connects them without any intermediate pieces.
