trying to hook a JIC hose up to a BSPT port. is this the right adapter for that

For a straight adapter between those two thread types, it matches a 3/8 inch JIC male end with a 9/16-18 UNF thread, and a 1/2 inch BSPT male end with an R 1/2-14 thread.

Got a hydraulic line running JIC fittings on one end and a BSPT port on the other, this the right adapter to bridge that gap?

That's what this fitting handles. One side is 3/8" JIC with a 9/16-18 UNF thread, and the other is 1/2" BSPT with an R 1/2-14 thread, so it connects those two standards directly without any extra hardware in between. Both sides are male, so make sure the ports you're connecting to are female on each end before ordering.
