got a line running R 1/8 BSPT on one end and JIC on the other, this the right part to bridge them together?

Yeah, that's exactly what this adapter is built for. One end is a 1/2-20 UNF male JIC, the other is an R 1/8-28 male BSPT. Both sides are male, so you'd need female fittings on the components you're connecting it to. Steel construction, straight configuration, and it comes in at 32.2mm long with a 14mm wrench width. Fits tight spaces reasonably well for what it is.
