trying to hook a BSPT port up to an NPT line, is this the right nipple for that?

For a straight male to male adapter between those thread types, it matches that job. One end is R 3/4 - 14 BSPT male and the other end is 3/4 - 14 NPTF male, so it is meant to bridge BSPT to NPT in a hydraulic connection.
