got a pump with a G 1/8-28 port and i need to tie into a 1/8-27 NPTF line. is this the right little nipple for that?

For that thread matchup, yes. One end is male G 1/8 - 28 BSPP and the other end is male 1/8 - 27 NPTF, so it is meant to bridge those two standards in a straight, non-adjustable nipple.

Got a piece of equipment here with a BSPP port that I need to tie into a 1/8 NPT line. This nipple gonna work for that?

That's what this fitting is built for. One end runs a male G 1/8-28 BSPP thread and the other end is male 1/8-27 NPTF, so it bridges those two thread standards in a single straight piece. Both sides are 1/8 inch, and the whole thing is machined from steel, so it holds up well in working industrial conditions. No sealant or extra hardware is called out as required for installation either.
