got a piece of equipment running a 1-1/4" JIC male port that needs to tie into a 1-1/2" BSPP male fitting on a British-made pump, this adapter gonna bridge that gap?

That's exactly what this fitting is built for. One end is a male JIC at 1-1/4" with a 1-5/8 - 12 UN thread, and the other is a male BSPP at 1-1/2" with a G 1-1/2 - 11 thread.
