trying to swap a hose over, is this the straight adapter that goes 3/8 JIC male to 3/4 BSPP male

For that exact conversion, you’re on the right track. Side 1 is a 3/8 inch JIC male with a 9/16 - 18 UNF thread, and Side 2 is a 3/4 inch BSPP male with a G 3/4 - 14 thread, in a straight steel body.

got a piece of equipment running BSPP ports and need to tie into a JIC line, this a straight-through adapter or does it have some kind of angle to it?

Straight through, no angle. One end is a 3/8" JIC male with a 9/16-18 UNF thread, and the other is a 3/4" BSPP male on a G 3/4-14 thread. The fitting runs 43.1mm long and takes a 32mm wrench, so it sits pretty compact in tight spots. Steel construction, Adaptall brand, part number 9005ES-06-12 if you need to reference it on an order.
