trying to hook a 16 JIC hose end to a 20 BSPP port, is 9005-1620 the right adapter for that?

It’s an Adaptall hydraulic adapter made to bridge a 16 JIC connection on one side and a 20 BSPP connection on the other, so it fits that 16JIC to 20BSPP matchup.

Will this fitting work for connecting a JIC to a BSPP line, or am I misunderstanding something?

This Adaptall fitting does indeed adapt between a 16JIC (JIC stands for Joint Industry Council) and a 20BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) connection. It's a pretty standard adapter for hydraulic systems using those thread types.
