Got a piece of equipment running a BSPP port and my hydraulic line terminates in a JIC fitting, does this adapter go between them without needing any extra pieces?

That's exactly what it's built for. One end is a 7/8-14 UNF JIC male thread in the 5/8" size, and the other is a G 1/2-14 BSPP male thread. Both ends are male, so you're threading each side directly into its matching female port or coupling. No additional pieces needed for that connection. The straight body keeps everything inline at 44mm total length, which helps in tighter spots where a bulkier adapter wouldn't fit clean.

trying to hook a 5/8 jic line to a 1/2 bspp port, is this the right adapter?

Match the thread callouts and it lines up: one side is a 5/8 inch JIC male with 7/8-14 UNF threads, and the other side is a 1/2 inch BSPP male with G 1/2-14 threads.
