got a piece of equipment with a JIC port on one end and a BSPP port on the other, this the kind of adapter that'd bridge them two together?

That's what this one's built for. One end is a 9/16-18 UNF male JIC thread, which corresponds to a 3/8" JIC size. The other end is a G 1/2-14 male BSPP thread, the 1/2" size. Both sides are male, so you'd be threading each end into a female port on your respective components. Straight configuration, no bends or offsets, so it works best where your ports are already lined up.
