trying to hook a G 1/2 - 14 port to an M22 x 1.5 line, is that what this adapter’s for?

Built for exactly that thread change, it is a straight steel adapter with a male BSPP G 1/2 - 14 on one end and a male metric M22 x 1.5 on the other.

That's exactly what this adapter is built for. One side is G 1/2 - 14 BSPP male and the other is M22 x 1.5 metric male, so it connects those two thread standards in a straight-through configuration without any reducers or extra pieces in between.
