Product Questions & Answers

got a piece of equipment with a G 1/4 port on one side and a 3/8 BSPT fitting on the other -- will this nipple bridge those two without needing extra adapters in between?
Question by: Merle G on Apr 18, 2025, 8:48 PM
That's exactly what it's built for. One end is G 1/4 BSPP male, the other is R 3/8 BSPT male, so it connects those two thread types directly in a single piece. No stacking adapters, no extra length added to the assembly. Just keep in mind the two ends seal differently. The BSPP side relies on a bonded washer or O-ring face seal at the port, while the BSPT side seals on thread engagement itself. Make sure both mating ports are set up accordingly before you torque it down.

Will this fitting work to connect a 1/4" BSPP to a 3/8" BSPT line? Just wanna make sure before I order.
Question by: Diane J on Dec 23, 2025, 1:32 PM
That's exactly what this nipple is designed for. It adapts between those two different British thread types, with the parallel BSPP side sealing against a washer and the tapered BSPT side sealing on the threads themselves.

got a valve with a G 1/4 port and the line side is R 3/8, is this the right little adapter nipple for that?
Question by: Terry P on Aug 13, 2025, 9:57 AM
For tying those two British thread standards together, it matches up as a straight steel male to male nipple with G 1/4 BSPP on one end and R 3/8 BSPT on the other.
