Got a line running G 1-1/2 BSPP on one end and need to step it down to a 1 inch BSPP connection, this nipple do that?

That's what this fitting handles. One end is G 1-1/2 - 11 male BSPP and the other is G 1 - 11 male BSPP, so it bridges those two sizes in a straight, inline configuration. Both threads are male, so you'd be threading this into female BSPP ports on both sides of the connection.
