trying to step down from a 1-1/4 BSPP port to 3/4 BSPP, is this the right straight nipple for that?

For reducing between two male BSPP connections, it goes from G 1-1/4 - 11 male on one end to G 3/4 - 14 male on the other, and it stays straight through for an inline hookup.

Got a manifold block with a 1-1/4" BSPP port that needs to feed into a 3/4" BSPP line, will this nipple bridge that gap?

That's what this fitting handles. One end is G 1-1/4 - 11 male BSPP and the other is G 3/4 - 14 male BSPP, so it connects those two thread sizes inline without any adapters in between. Both ends are parallel pipe thread, so you're staying fully within the BSPP system on both sides. Steel construction holds up fine in standard industrial hydraulic setups.
