trying to swap an old -012 o-ring, is this the right dash size and how big is it really?

Match-up wise, it is a Dash Size -012 O-ring. The nominal size is 3/8 inch ID, 1/2 inch OD, and 1/16 inch width, and the actual measured dimensions are 0.364 inch ID, 0.504 inch OD, and 0.07 inch width.

Made from 90 Durometer Buna-N, it's designed to handle standard hydraulic applications within its temperature range. Just be sure your system stays between -40°F and 240°F.

These rated for real cold temps? Got equipment running outside through winter and need something that ain't gonna crack up on me.

Buna-N at 90 durometer holds up from -40°F all the way to 240°F, so winter outdoor use is well within range. The higher durometer rating means this is a firmer compound, which actually helps it hold its shape under pressure in fluctuating temperatures rather than getting soft or deforming.
