Product Questions & Answers

Got a half-inch hose I'm trying to connect up to a BSPT-threaded port. This fitting gonna work for that setup?
Question by: Ronnie R on Aug 11, 2025, 1:51 PM
Yeah, that's exactly what this fitting is built for. One end carries a male R 1/2-14 BSPT taper thread, and the other end is a hose barb sized for 1/2-inch hose. Straight configuration, so no angling required. Brass construction holds up well in industrial hydraulic environments where corrosion is a concern.

How tight should I make this fitting when connecting it to the hose? I don't want to overtighten and damage anything.
Question by: Duane E on May 7, 2025, 9:25 AM
The BSPT thread is designed to create a tight seal when properly fitted. You'll want to tighten it enough to ensure there are no leaks, but avoid excessive force to prevent damage to the brass or the hose. A snug fit should do the trick.

got a 1/2 inch hose on the bench, will this barb match up without any weird adapters
Question by: Wayne R on Nov 5, 2025, 12:03 PM
For hose hookup, the barb end is sized for a 1/2 inch hose, so it is meant to slide into a 1/2 inch hose and clamp down like a standard barb connection.
