flow rate on this valve is listed at 80 LPM -- is that enough for most press applications or do i need to look at something bigger?

For a good share of press setups, 80 liters per minute is right in the working range. The DG4V-3 series is built specifically for industrial press applications among others, so that flow capacity was sized with those demands in mind. Whether it fits your particular circuit depends on your cylinder bore and cycle speed, but 80 LPM handles a solid range of press work without issue.
