flow rate on this valve is listed at 120 liters per minute -- is that enough for press or die casting applications or would it be undersized for that kind of work?
Question by: Norm B on Aug 16, 2025, 11:32 AM
For press and die casting setups, 120 liters per minute is a solid working capacity and falls right in line with what those applications typically demand. The DGMDC-5 is specifically listed for die casting and foundry use as well as press applications, so that flow rating was matched to those environments by design. As long as your system requirements don't push beyond that ceiling, you're in good shape.

These Vickers DGMDC-5 valves often find their way into die casting setups and foundries, as well as machine tools. They're also suitable for marine and offshore applications, presses, primary metal processing, paper mills, test equipment, simulation rigs, and even turbine controls, whether it's wind, steam, or water turbines.
