does this valve handle both three-way and four-way configurations or just one of them

Both setups are supported. The DG4V-3 series covers three-way and four-way directional control, so you're not locked into one configuration. That kind of flexibility is a big reason these show up across such a wide range of equipment types, from press lines to turbine control systems.

Is this thing gonna fit on a standard mounting surface, or am I gonna need some kind of adapter?

Easily mountable on industry-standard surfaces, this directional control valve shouldn't require any adapters for typical setups.
