fitting's got a male M14 x 1.5 thread on one end -- does the other side take standard 1/8 NPT female connections or is it some oddball size?

The female end is 1/8-27 NPTF, which is the standard 1/8" NPT thread. That size is about as common as it gets in hydraulic and pneumatic hydraulic connections, so you should have no trouble mating it to any standard 1/8" NPT male fitting or port.
