both ends on this coupling are female BSPP, right? just want to make sure before i order it for a 3/4 inch line swap

Correct on both counts. Each end carries a female BSPP thread with a G 3/4 - 14 callout, so you're working with 3/4 inch connections on both sides. It's a straight fitting, no offsets or angles, which keeps the swap clean if your existing line runs in a direct path.

Will this fitting hold up okay outside? I need to run some hydraulic lines to a log splitter that sits out in the weather.

Brass is generally pretty resistant to corrosion, so this coupling should work fine for outdoor use on your log splitter.
