Got a 1/2 inch BSPP male fitting on a manifold block and need to step it down to a 1/4 inch female BSPP port. this bushing do that job?

That's what it's built for. The male side is G 1/2-14 at 1/2 inch, and the female side is G 1/4-19 at 1/4 inch, so you're threading the larger male end into your manifold and running a 1/4 inch BSPP fitting into the female end. Straight configuration, brass construction, no bends or offsets involved.
