thread specs on both ends of this thing, is it R 1/8-28 on the male side and 1/8-27 on the female end?

That's right. The male BSPT side runs R 1/8-28 and the female NPTF side is 1/8-27. Both ends are 1/8" size, so as long as your fittings match up to those thread counts you should be good to go.
