clamp says non-perforated, does that actually make a difference on hose wear compared to the regular banded ones?

Non-perforated band construction keeps the surface contact smooth and continuous, so there are no edges or holes pressing into the hose material over time. On a standard perforated clamp, those cutouts can create concentrated pressure points that gradually work into softer hose walls. For marine hose connections that see vibration or thermal cycling, that even contact surface helps the hose last longer without surface damage at the clamp seat.
