got a 2 inch hose, will this clamp handle it or am i gonna be fighting it

It covers a 2 inch up to 2 9/16 inch range, so a 2 inch hose is within what it’s made to clamp.

clamp says 2 to 2-9/16 inch fit range, is that a fixed size or can it be adjusted to fit somewhere in between?

Fixed size only on this one. The non-adjustable design means it's built to fit within that 2 to 2 9/16 inch range as a set clamp, not a variable one.
